The Institute for Mining and Chemical Technological Research Tuzla was established by the Decree of the Executive Council of the People's Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina on December 29, 1960. year, whose reorganization formed the Institute of Chemical Engineering in 1977, which in the same year with the Institute of Coal Processing and Carbochemistry, and the Faculty of Technology Tuzla, formed a working organization for research and education in the chemical and process industry Tuzla.
This form of organizing scientific research work exists until December 28, 1989. year, when the units of the Institute of Chemical Engineering Tuzla and the Institute of Coal Processing and Carbochemistry Tuzla, become independent scientific researchers of the unit.
In the period since its founding in 1974, the Institute of Chemical Engineering has closely cooperated with SODASO - Polyurethane Chemistry on the development of new products in the field of polyurethane and the improvement of certain parts of technological processes.
The cooperation between the University of Tuzla and the Institute of Chemical Engineering is present in the engagement of undergraduate and postgraduate students in the work process of the Institute of Chemical Engineering.
Eighteen doctors of technical sciences who acquired this title as employees of the Institute of Chemical Engineering, were or are still involved in the teaching process of the University of Tuzla.
On the other hand, fifteen professors from the Faculty of Technology in Tuzla were hired as project managers on more than 60 projects implemented at the Institute of Chemical Engineering.
Among the most significant projects realized through the cooperation of the Faculty of Technology, University of Tuzla and the Institute of Chemical Engineering, the following stand out:
Organization of research in the chemical industry in 1978
Study of the possibility of obtaining vanadium pentoxide as a by-product in the production of alumina by the Bayer process in 1979
Jale River Pollution Reduction Survey, Final Report UNDP-I Phase Project, YUG 76/003 - 1979.
Study of biodegradability of wastewater HAK - I - flow of propylene oxide with wastewater of the city of Tuzla - 1979.
Toxicity and biodegradability study of orthodichlorobenzene from wastewater in TDI production, - 1981
Influence of basic parameters and quality of raw materials in the production of high-quality calcium hypochlorite in 1982
Water supply and reduction of water pollution in the area of the river Spreča, Project UNDP-YUG 78/006 - Phase II - 1983
Study of long-term development of the chemical industry of BiH until 2000 in 1985
Reconstruction of the P-5 plant with a capacity of 150,000 t / year in the Tuzla Salt Factory in 1986
Reconstruction of the P-6 plant with a capacity of 150,000 t / year in the Tuzla Salt Factory in 1987
Polyurethane School 1987 to 1991
Development and implementation of 24 polyol formulations - 1985 to 1991
In the period since its founding in 1974, the Institute of Chemical Engineering has worked closely with SODASO - Polyurethane Chemistry on the development of new products in the field of polyurethane and the improvement of certain parts of technological processes.
